Every year, members and their families gather together for a night of togetherness, thanks and recognition of time spent serving. The annual Canaan Firefighters Association Family Dinner and Recognition Night is equal parts celebration and gratitude—plates filled, stories shared, and the quiet pride of service hanging in the air.

Awards remind us that behind every call is a person who showed up when it mattered most. Likewise, the members’ families, the steady backbone of it all, are recognized not with medals, but with something just as meaningful: heartfelt appreciation by all for putting up with missed meals, events and overall support.

The evening closes with the annual meeting, where new officers are elected— leadership stepping forward to carry the torch. Thank you to the people who keep showing up, and to those in their families and in the communities to continue to back us up when we really need them.
